FredWorld version 0.3 : Credits

This site best viewed with Macintosh. Actually, the whole Internet is best viewed with Macintosh. In fact, life is best lived when computing with Macintosh.

This site started during Christmas 1996 to the sounds of Eberhard Weber, Severed Heads, The Sneeches, Culture'sTwo Sevens Clash , Mozart's Requiem and John R. Cash. Also CBC-FM, CKUA Radio and CJSW-91.

This site BBEdited January 14th, 1997, to the sounds of Steeleye Span, L7 and Arrow; January 21st to Adam and The Ants, The Undertones and The Damned (I had a retro moment); the 22nd to Torvald Torn.

Edited January 23rd, 1998, to the Gregorianischer Choral, IvorCutler, Songhai, Tracy Chapman, Simon & Garfunkle  (long day...).

Entire site overhauled into NetObjects Fusion between February 4th and 11th, '98. Much different music was listened to, but the most replayed was Queen Latifah's How Do I Love Thee EP.

Site pretty much ignored until (February 3rd, 1999) when I added the time-based widgets while listening to the sounds of the Cowboy Junkies and the soundtrack to On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Version 0.3 started in March of 1999. This overhaul is dedicated to the memory of Denay Stash Semkulay, February 14th, 1970 - April 3rd, 1999. The official music of this overhaul is by his band, Interstellar Root Cellar. (Although Jesus Christ Superstar came on the TV while I was writing this, and that seemed pretty appropriate too).

Minor updates made to version 0.3 on January 15th, 2000. I listened mostly to CJSW Radio, except I dropped out of radio mode to watch the season openers of Hercules and Xena on A-Channel. Although, "watch" is a rather over-used phrase when it comes to television these days, don't you think? Co-exist with may be more accurate...

'Nuff respek to Yves Piguet for GifBuilder. I hope he makes some money from his code.

As can be seen by the above logos, many tools were used during the manufacture and remanufacturing of this site. In particular Bare Bones' BBEdit has been one constant in construction due to its clear design and multi-file operation. Adobe Photoshop was and is used extensively. Ofoto does the scanning. Also, Netscape Gold and Communicator were invaluable for sketching and previewing. Yves Piguet made GifBuilder, which still hasn't been surpassed by commercial programs in certain areas, and it's stalled at version 0.5! NetObjects Fusion was used for version 0.2 of FredWorld. The rollovers in version 0.3 were made with Macromedia Fireworks 1.0 and version 0.3 was more-or-less laid out with Macromedia DreamWeaver 2.0. Strangely enough, Macromedia doesn't seem to have any "Made with..." logos available on its site. Adobe ImageReady has also started to creep into use since Adobe changed Photoshop's RGB model with version 5 and you can't make a gif that looks accurate with it any more.

Qualcomm Eudora rocks my email world, and although it wasn't really used to "build" any of this site, I did use it to quickly check and change some code occasionally.

Over and above all, this site was made using the AppleMacintosh® platform, and I would rather hammer a nail through my tongue than use any other computer to get real work done.
